When we arrived at our scheduled first playtime today, we found Jacob grinning from ear to ear in a walker boogying down to Kaz pop tunes. Interesting fact. The walkers are on wheels (Duh! So the kids can walk!). Here, however, the walkers are tied to chairs so the kids don’t go wheeling out of control across the floor. Next to Jacob, my favorite little dude in his group was walker-bound and thought none-to-highly of Jacob stealing a toy from him. He let out a very loud cry for a little dude but Jacob latched on and would not let go. I practically had to wrestle him for it! Watch out… Orphanage life has not taught Jacob how to share well with others!
Jacob’s “peeps” watched in envy as he was allowed freedom of movement. To console the others, we grabbed several toys from our bag for the other kids to inspect. Mom – the jumping frog is still the biggest hit of the show! Each kid slimed it at least once.
The weather here just couldn’t be any better. It’s about 80 degrees with a nice breeze. We had Jacob outside for our second playtime and we tried our best to entertain him and the kids just slightly older.
We did have an accomplishment on the techy front. No, our phone still stinks and works about 40% of the time. Sorry to all who've tried to call. We're roaming using an Estonia phone # in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Improvement on the phone-front is not likely to improve. What did improve, at least for us, is that our site's function commands are now in English! Not sure what you were seeing but when we logged in, all of the Blogspot info was in Russian. Luckily, I'd played on the site enough to muddle our way through the posts. But, since we have nothing better to do tonight, we grabbed a Russian dictionary, a translation site on the internet and a bit of luck. The result. We're finally seeing our site in English!

We spoke to JC earlier today. He told us all about strawberry picking, riding the Gator, swimming, playing outside, etc. It sounds like he's doing well. I made it through the call without tears (for once!). Looks like our bonding period will end on Tuesday, June 6th. Our facilitator is already speaking to the judge and we're hoping for a court date shortly thereafter. We hate to leave Jacob behind but we cannot wait to get home for JC (and Abby the dog too!).
We had Cognac and super-huge hot dogs for dinner. Let me rephrase that by saying that we both drank Cognac and Tim ate both hot dogs for dinner. No worries, however, I ate the left over cake from yesterday's festivities. No weight loss here... bummer!
Not much more to say here….. things are very routine. I've started watching the Lost Season 1 (thanks Susan & Ernie) and have read 3 books. Tim fills his time working. We miss everyone, especially JC, and can’t wait to come home.
Much love to all! Thanks for your posts!

Sherri and Tim,
Saturday and Sunday were rainy at Table Rock Lake, so you didn't miss much. We went home on Sunday afternoon after we ate my dad's homemade ice cream. (not trying to rub it in) Lauren is not quite crawling yet so Jacob has a little bit of development on her. However, in her walker she is unstoppable! Natalie was asking about JC and didn't really understand that he wasn't always at the lake. Ha.
I spoke with your mom before we left on Sunday and just so you know she was diligently working on the garage project so she didn't have an opportunity to socialize.
We hope all keeps going well.
Take care!

Happy Memorial Day,
We are having so much fun following your journal. It brings back so many memories. It is really hard to leave the other children behind. I still think about Tessa's roommates and wonder if they have all been placed. Especially Ilya. He is probably why there is still a slim (very slim if Ernie sees this entry) that we will go for a third.
I promise I will only say this once, but I can not get over how similar Jacob and Logan look in pictures at this age. The round head, full cheeks and lips, dark eyes, beautiful skin, and the smile. Size wise, all the clothes should fit great and be the right season since they are both early July B-days and "big" boys.
Well, we miss you so much. Our Friday's are much less eventful. Oh, by the way...all of the customers at Schuck's in Eureka now know JC's mom is in Kaz. Something must have reminded Logan of Sherri this morning. He just yelled it out right there in the fruit aisle. I don't think he even gets what Kaz is. Good thing he doesn't or he might be saying to JC, "just wait..you are not going to believe what they are going to bring home. Life will never be the same. :) "
It has been off again, on again rain this entire weekend. Just enough time and tiny burst of sunshine to get in some pool time and outside play. Ernie and I have both had the stomach flu. The good news is so far the kids have been fine and we were blessed with having it on different days.
One last thing. Ernie wanted me to ask you if you can get him an autograph picture of Borat while you are there. If not him, his kissing sister will do. :) Love you guys! Be safe and Sherri make good use of our gift.
Dear Sherri Tim and Jake the Great.
We can't wait to have you all home. We have missed you soooo much. And will miss you next week with all the festivities...
I can't elaborate as Mago is following along. Papa too of course.
Karla started her new job at the country club today. Clayton was going to train her... She looked so cute when he picked her up to take her on her first day.
Hope hope hope it all goes well. We will soon find out. Kelly worked today too. Bob and I went to Lowes and caught up with a few things we have been putting off.
New weedeater, new blower, some flowers, Light bulbs, and etc.
Then we came home to barbeque for the fam. Chicken, potatoe salad, baked beans of course, salad and a few Bud Lights. Make that a very few after the festivities last night there weren't very many here. Mom and Dad came over Chris, Bob Erin, The Fosters 4, and our usual enteourage, (don't know how to spell that) Mike Jimmy Marcus,Etc. I love having them all here. And bonus having 2 electricians as friends was helpful to get not one but both lights in the pool working.
The room in the picture its very nice, is it like the living room of the place. or the official come in and play with the kids room, or the "presentation of the children room" It seems almost too peaceful, for having so many children in the building. Perhaps it's only the picture since it is silent film that makes it seem that way.
Wish you were here. If you are home Bobs graduation party is the 16th. Hope you will be home for that. and all your group, if they are in town. Jill Eric Mom Dad and all the little people.
Well I will now try not to erase this before I get it sent...
Love to you all. give Jake the Great for me.
Aunt Debby
I should have proof read before I published, Was too worried about erasing... It should have said give Jake the Great a hug for me. Duh...

Tim:
I just read all of your postings, and it sounds like you are having quite the adventure. Jacob is absolutely adorable! And he looks so much like the pictures I've seen of JC, its almost scary.
You are not missing a thing from work - Lew is just getting back from vacation today (he had a minor delay in getting back from Rome, but compared to you "seasoned travelers," he has NOTHING to complain about!), so needless to say it has been very quiet - at least from the Mentor side. I'm sure Wendlyn and I will pass on anything we can just to keep you occupied when you are not with that adorable child. In the meantime, enjoy the time you have with Jacob. Work is work - it will be here when you get back and will never be as important as what you are doing right now.
Good luck!

I would like to list the subtitle for the picture of Sherri celebrating Jake's standing on his own to:
"I'm in love again!" That is a totally great picture on so many levels -- Jake also seems to be saying with his expression "whatever..." or "this is just a preview of what's ahead..."
I also love the picture of JC and Uncle Eric! JC looks so big I could almost cry. I know we'll have trouble prying him away for a play day at Aunt Jan's, so maybe I'll have to come to your house and play with him while you mow.
We miss you all terribly and can't wait until you come home!
Today is Mom & Dad's 60th anniversary and we begin the celebration week tonight. So today as you play with Jake and think about all those that love you from around the world, remember GOD IS GOOD! We are so blessed.
Much, much love,
Aunt Jan, Uncle Yoda, Brian and Laura
P.S. Allyson, Laura and I went shopping this weekend for additions to the "work wardrobe". Shopping for someone that fits in a size 4 is fun and depressing at the same time -- if you know what I mean. We did find some great things, but Sherri we would have loved to have you there to help us!
Dear Tim and Sherri:
I have to tell you your posts are great. Each story is very detailed and remind me of the trips I have taken to orphanages in other countries. Bubbles are the best and I am thinking of putting that down as a requirement for all travelers.
Glad to hear everything continues to move along fine. Anxiously waiting to hear how the court goes.
Continuing to pray for you and this time you have to spend just with Jacob. JAN
Hey guys- we miss you tons. I again think the pics are great! It's hot here! I have a new found appreciation for those who work outside. I have to do it everyday now, IN A SUIT! So it's hot at theh pool but it's really hot at work. But the time is flying by, and believe it or not I start month 2 of 5 at the airport in June. That house that we thought we loved we are second guessing now, it may be a little too small. So the hunt continues. Anyway, I can't wait to sqeeze Jacob's cheeks. See you soon. LOVE LOVE LOVE
So glad things are going so well! Jacob is as cute as can be!! Can't wait to see the new member of the family!! JC sounds like he is having a good time too!! Have a safe journey home!
Kate, Duane, and Kelly Mazzacavallo
blockbuster keeps calling, i am telling you guys, they are going to hunt you down for those movies. oh and i think aunt debbie really means "jake the snake" but i think we should all call him jacob, kelly agrees.
Sherri and Tim,
You do know that you are doing an amazing job of keeping all of your fans up to date! I'm glad you've been able to do a bit of socializing and learning about the culture. (Cognac and hot dogs, what a combination!) It sure looks like Jacob and his friends enjoy your visits. Jacob is just the cutest! Sherri, Tommy and I just had gelato at the place you and I visited, and we have agreed to take you, Tim, J.C., and Jacob there as soon as is humanly possible!
Love,
Alice
Tim and Sherri,
Thank you for allowing us to share in your journey. It has been wonderful to hear about all of your adventures in Kaz. Thanks for all of the pictures, too. The kids are just beautiful!
You guys remain in our prayers,
Aimee
