He has hair...mostly...

For those of you who understand what a priority this is, here is evidence that Jacob has hair. However, in true family fashion, he does have an almost bald spot on the back of his head. We are choosing to believe this is a result of too many hours in the crib rather than any genetic link to our family.

It is 1:00 am here in the big town of Arkalyk. This may be the latest we have ever been awake in our lives. That is unless Sherri is calling the police on something that has gone bump in the night. We had a very big day today in that we were allowed to walk to the orphanage instead of being driven. For some reason the walk is 2 blocks and takes about 5 minutes but the drive is about 5 blocks and takes about 5 minutes. I would say that the drive follows the scenic route but that may not be quite accurate.

Walking has it's advantages though because when we were allowed to walk home after our pm visit, though we were offered a ride, we passed a bakery and some kind of a business that was serving draft beer. If we behave in the next few days, perhaps we will be allowed to stop in for a little treat.

We watched the first of the James Bond movies tonight, Sherri was unimpressed but I thought it was great. Diamonds are Forever.... a classic.

Our host who cooks for us asked today if we were Christians. One of the ladies who is providing for us is Muslim and the other is Christian. The Christian lady, a wonderful woman named Rose, who speaks to us quickly and loudly in 95% Russian and 5% English told us of the upcoming Christian celebration on Sunday - vaskrisyen'ye. In true Russian fashion, the holiday is filled with traditions of which one seemed to be most important and that involves drinking Vodka and at our request p'eva - beer. We are looking forward to Sunday.

Keep those posts coming, we check for them frequently, because we love to hear from you and because there is absolutely nothing else to do.

Bye for now

Tim and Sherri

Wow, he really looks like JC in this picture. I didn't think so much in the first picture. He's one handsome dude!

Glad to see all the hair. I take it that hair is a concern in Tim's family??

He is absolutely adorable. Oh..those cheeks are just so cute. We love the name (Logan was almost a Jacob). The referral process just sounds so emotionally exhausting. It is amazing though that the child meant for you is the one that becomes yours. Everything just works out. He looks like he has such a fun personality too.

Cute cute, cute, What a sweetie. Thank God he has hair. Does he crawl, scoot, or other. Does he have any dalmation clothes, or any other dog loving affirmations. We miss you loads too. The Fosters are in San Fransisco, and you all are way over there. Mom and Dad me and the kids and Chris, are all thats left. Doesn't sound it should be lonley but it is.

Tim the floor at church hit a snafoo today. after making a selection with Dwane and Kelly at church Sunday the material wasn't available till June!!!!! I will attempt to make a substitution tomorrow and check stock from church so we can finally get this off the list. The best color isn't an option and that will trouble me but don't worry we could still get this done in time... I think Mike jinkxed it on Sunday when HE promised it would be done for the wedding before he talked to me, Mike hope you read this and can pull some divine strings to keep your back side out of the hot water. I never promise a rose garden till I have plants in my hand. Yea yea I will do my very best!

If you have been otherwise occupied and haven't checked the news on Cole... He played his first baseball game last Friday!!! (date may be off a little) but he is remarkable. Proof in the pudding prayers work miracles. and we are concentrating on you 3 ceaslesly. (that may not be spelled right) I know you know what i mean.
Have fun every day, don't rush I know you miss JC but now you have to share your attention. Easier said than done. They picked the number of bonding days after much experience so play-play-play.
And take more pictures and send more stories. We love every word.
It's Tuesday night I have to go, maybe/probably I'll write again when I get home.
Love and lots of hugs to Jake The Snake. (I'm still working on his nick name) can't use Jake Jake Bo Bake that was Aunt Vickies dogs name. Maybe Jake the Great. Well we will come up with something he will eventually hate. More later, Aunt Debby

Congrats you guys! Jacob is adorable and his smile spells Mr. Personality! Those 2 teefs are so cute.

Nap while you can! It helps the time go by for one thing. I hope things go smoothly and quickly. I know it will be hard to leave Jacob for even a few weeks, but, all in all, will be worth it as you know.

I bet there will be some Chunky Monkey in your freezer when you get home. Yes, I am trying to torture you!
